Masarro

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 15, 2026

Welcome to Masarro. We believe your health and fitness data belongs strictly to you. This Privacy Policy explains our "privacy-first" approach and how data is handled when you use the Masarro iOS application.

1. Local Data Storage and iCloud Backups

Masarro is designed to operate primarily on your device. All user-generated data, including workout logs and daily nutritional tracking, is stored locally on your iPhone. We do not have servers that collect, transmit, or view your health or fitness data.

Optional iCloud Backup: In the future, or depending on your device settings, you may choose to back up your Masarro data using Apple's iCloud service. This backup is encrypted and managed entirely by Apple. We, the developers of Masarro, cannot access your iCloud backup data.

2. Apple HealthKit Integration

Masarro may offer optional integration with Apple's Health app (HealthKit) to read and write data such as workouts or nutritional intake.

  • Explicit Permission: We will only access or write to HealthKit if you grant explicit permission through the iOS permission prompt.
  • No Advertising or Selling: We absolutely do not use, sell, or disclose your HealthKit data to third parties for advertising, marketing, or data mining purposes.
  • Local Processing: Any data read from HealthKit is processed locally on your device to enhance your app experience and is not sent to our servers.

3. Third-Party APIs and External Data

To provide comprehensive tracking features and database updates,Masarro connects to the following external services:

  • Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare to securely host and deliver our open-source exercise database in a static format (JSON). When your app fetches updates to this database, Cloudflare may temporarily process your IP address for security and routing purposes, but no personal health data is transmitted.
  • OpenFoodFacts: When you search for a food item or scan a barcode, the app makes a direct network request to the OpenFoodFacts API to retrieve nutritional data. These requests do not contain any personal identifiers or logging history.

4. Analytics and Crash Reports

We do not use third-party tracking software or analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel) inside the app. However, if you have opted-in to share crash reports and app analytics with developers through your iOS device settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash logs to help us fix bugs and improve the app's stability.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
